Today were going to talk about my absolute favorite summer fruit…. STRAWBERRIES! Can you believe I haven’t done one of these for strawberries yet🤯 And there’s nothing quite like a fresh, local summer strawberry👌🏼

  1. NOT TOO SWEET – strawberries actually don’t have that much sugar in them compared to other fruits. One cup contains 7 grams of sugar and 3 grams of fiber
  2. ANTHOCYANIN – Did you know that the colors of fruits and vegetables are actually anti-inflammatory and many are linked to better health. And anthocyanin (the color in a strawberry) has been linked to protecting against UV rays which makes them perfect for summer (1)
  3. SKIN CARE – even this delicious fruit can do wonders for your face! Strawberries naturally contain salicylic acid, alpha hydroxy acid, and ellagic acid which help with hyper-pigmentation and preventing acne breakouts
  4. DETOXIFICATION – I hate the word detox because some people think you need special teas, supplements or powders to “detox” but that is completely wrong. Your body detoxes everyday whether you know it or not (which is why you aren’t dead right now, thanks body😘). And eating good, nutritious food like strawberries can help restore your digestive health and promote digestive regularity which helps your body eliminate all of the bad stuff or the stuff we don’t need
