Tid Bit(e) Tuesday

Its almost summer time and that means melon season! I love cantaloupe so I’m so happy it’s back in season! What’s your favorite summer fruit?

1. WATER – melons are full of water to help you stay hydrated during the hot summer months

2. BETA-CAROTENE – this melon is orange and thats thanks to the beta-carotene. This is an important antioxidant that can help get rid of free radicals. (1)

3. POST WORKOUT – Cantalope contains potassium and glucose which are both important after weight-bearing exercise. If you like to eat melon with salt then this would be perfect to replenish all your electrolytes lost during exercise.

4. DIGESTION – cantaloupe can help with constipation and promote healthy digestion because it’s full of water and made of easily digestible sugars
