Tid Bit(e) Tuesday

Raspberries are one of my fav fruits (well actually all berries are pretty much my fav)! And they have a good amount of nutrition packed in too!

  1. ANTIOXIDANTS- Raspberries are FILLED with antioxidants!! They come from their color and other compounds within the berry
  2. MACULAR DEGENERATION: Because of their bioactive compounds berries improve blood and oxygen delivery to the eye and scavenge free radicals which can contribute to cataracts and macular degeneration. These can both lead to blindness. (1)
  3. WOMEN HEALTH – Raspberry leaf tea is amazing for pregnant and lactating women. It can help with pain, nausea, childbirth and promoting the production of breast milk. It can also be used to regulate hormones (2)
  4. FACIALS – Some people use them in their facials and they swear by them. Blending raspberries and yogurt together than applying to face and waiting 15 minutes is said to reduce the appearance of wrinkles… who wants to try it?
