New year, new you?

The new year is here!! I love New Years because its kinda like a time to restart and reflect. I like to make month intentions for every month but New Years gives a chance to reflect on everything that happened in the year before.

What I don’t like about this time of year is people decide that they need to lose weight so they cut calories and do cardio like madmen. Please do not do this. And please do not buy detox teas or those things that go around your waist to magically get abs… yea those are just people making something to make money.

So! If you decided this was the year you want to start eating better, feeling better and living a more wholesome life I have a few tips for you!

  1. Eat more veggies- when you bug veggies at the store be sure to clean and cut them up right when you get home! This way you will be more likely to eat them!! To start, just add one serving of veggie to each and every meal (yes, including breakfast!) And you can totally start by adding your favorite vegetable into more meals to make it easy. I am 100% sure you will find yourself craving more and more 🙂
  2. Drink water- Many people are dehydrated. They drink like one cup of water and call it good or they drink the recommended 8 cups of water which is not a universally rule. You should be striving for half of your body weight in ounces. So say you weigh 140 pounds, you should be trying to drink 70 ounces of water
  3. Just move- You do not have go to the gym when you first start exercising. Just start walking, getting up from your desk every hour, and if you want to you can join a gym but just know that its not always necessary. Find something you actually like doing, because that is the only way you will keep it up!
  4. Follow our blog and instagram for yummy recipes- I mean I had to add this as a tip, right? HA! Right now I’m craving all the veggies👍🏼 Our tahini dressing in our cauliflower salad recipe pictured above is one of my favorites!
