Molasses is a deep, strong flavored sweetener that is usually added to Christmas bakes. It is one of my favorites and it actually has some really good benefits, so now you have an excuse to eat gingerbread men Here were talking about blackstrap molasses which is the one highest in nutrients!

  1. IRON- Molasses has a pretty good amount of iron. This is especially important for women because we need more iron then men usually
  2. CHROMIUM- It also has a nutrient called chromium. This is linked to glucose and insulin levels for people with type 2 diabetes. (1)
  3. CALCIUM- Calcium is good for building bones, clotting blog, keeping a normal heartbeat and so much more. If you don’t eat dairy calcium can be hard to get so adding some molasses to your diet could be good (2)
  4. HAIR- You can also use molasses as a hair mask… I know sounds weird haha. Dilute it with equal parts water, pour on hair, leave it for 20 minutes. This is great for nourishing and hydrating hair!
