AND this apple crisp has a nut topping that is soooo delicious!! Its perfect for cold fall days and to bring to parties or other occasions. If you wanted it to be less sweet you could totally use no maple syrup or maybe just a few tablespoons, whatever ya feel like!
Apple Crisp (print here)
Ingredients:
12 apples, sliced and if desired peeled
½ cup maple syrup
½ cup flour
dash of salt
1 ½ tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
¼ tsp. ground cloves
Topping:
2 cups ground walnuts
1 cup almond meal
½ cup maple syrup
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp. ground cloves
¼ cup butter, softened
Directions:
- Mix topping ingredients together and set aside. Mixture will be crumbly
- Mix all apple ingredients together in a mixing bowl
- Place into a 13 X 9 pan then sprinkle the topping over the apples.
- Bake at 375 degrees for approximately one hour. During the cooking time, check to see if your topping is browned to your liking. When it is loosely cover the pan with foil and bake for the rest of the time so that the topping does not burn. Serve warm, refrigerate leftovers
