Don’t get me wrong I LOVE fruit!! But sometimes I don’t need a sugar rush in the morning and my body just wants the extra veggies! Theres a hashtag going around instagram for these smoothies #DontJudgeTheSludge 🙂 HAHAH I love that because no fruit smoothies DO NOT come out pretty… I tried and I got a gray smoothie sooo whatever. (And also I’m kinda the WORST at decorating smoothie bowls haha! It is soooooo hard!) The trick to no fruit smoothies is all the spices and all the nut butter 🙂 You can mask any of the veggie taste with nut butter. This has also inspired me to add in more veggies to my usually fruit and spinach smoothie. Let me know if you try this and if you have other things you add to your smoothies! Remember, it’s about eating pure and simple.
No-FRUIT Smoothie (print here )
Handful of frozen spinach (about ½ cup)
½ cup frozen riced cauliflower
¼ cup purple potato, cooked (can use sweet potato)
A whole lot of cinnamon
A whole lot of nutmeg
1 tbsp. sunflower butter
1 scoop vital proteins collagen peptides
¼ cup full-fat coconut milk
½ cup Almond milk
- Put all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.
- Top with sunflower butter, chia seeds and MORE cinnamon
